This is an electronic device that will find the EFI password of a MacBook (pro / air) or iMac or Mac mini, provided it is a 4 digit numerical code. Having found the code it will DISPLAY the code on the built in LCD (as shown on the photo).
It plugs into the USB port. As soon as it is plugged in it will start trying all the codes from 0000 all the way up to 9999. Once it has hit the right code the machine will unlock. What makes this device SPECIAL (!!) is that it knows that it has hit the right code. It will beep and display the code on it's display. The found code will be left on the display until you unplug the device or turn off the Mac. So no messing with cameras or babysitting the device to note down the code once it has found it. (Or worse, booting into the machine, and still not knowing what the code was...) It feeds the codes to the Mac relatively fast. To run all the numbers takes just over 2 days.

The EFI PIN BLASTER is a nifty tool to unlock Mac's that have been locked with a four digit PIN number. It works on MacBook's, MacBook Air's, MacBook Pro's and iMac's. It uses a brute-force method trying all possible PINs. This method is non-invasive, meaning your Mac does not have to be taken apart or opened. Use of the EFI PIN BLASTER does not void your Mac's warranty!

This new and improved version is set-and-forget! It recognizes when the correct PIN has been found, so there is no more need to set a camera or check the progress regularly. The EFI PIN BLASTER now stops when the correct PIN has been detected1, showing the PIN on the display. There is also an audible alarm to signal that the 4-digit PIN has been found.
In this new version we have added a small dictionary with the most commonly used PINs. The dictionary attack is tried first before the normal incremental brute-force attack.
